Tritones Policies

Course Selection

The age recommendations for the Kindermusik programs have been carefully chosen to best group children in an age and developmentally appropriate way. Therefore, it is important that your child be at least the minimum age by the start of the term in which you are enrolling.

Please note that the upper ages are guidelines only, and if you have any concerns or questions please contact us for further discussion.

Registration & Payment

  • Your completed online enrolment form (or signed paper version), accompanied by your deposit payment, reserves your place in a particular class. You will receive confirmation of enrolment by email or sms.
  • In the event that both of the class times you have chosen are unavailable, we will contact you to discuss other alternatives.
  • If you are opting to pay only the deposit now, the balance is due by week 2 of term.
  • Our preferred method of payment is online (internet transfer by your bank), or credit card payment through this website.
  • If you would like us to issue you with an emailed receipt, please request it.

Ongoing Enrolment

Your enrolment will be treated as an ongoing enrolment, which means that you accept the responsibility for telling us when you want to change classes, or decide that you don't want to continue with classes the following term.

(Please be considerate and give reasonable advance notice.)

Cancellation

If there are extenuating circumstances requiring withdrawal from class, a credit towards future classes may be given. Any refund request will be considered on an individual basis. (A small administration fee may be charged in the event of a cancellation.)

Illnesses & Catch-up Classes

If you or your child are ill, please consider others and stay home. Please let us know (via email) if possible, well before the class. We are happy to allow students who miss a class to make up that class, dependent upon availability. Simply contact us in advance to schedule another time.

In the event of teacher illness, you will be notified of cancellation and the scheduled catch-up date, by sms.

Public Holidays

Tritones runs classes on some Public Holidays, so please check the Term Dates page on this website.

Occasional Additional Children

Our casual rate for bringing additional children to your regular class is $10.

Please contact us before bringing additional children to class.

Grandparents and Other visiting Adults

We welcome Grandparents, Dads, and other adult family members (who don't usually attend class) into the classroom, as this both enhances the class experience and helps to spread the joy & benefit of Kindermusik classes.

Please tell the teacher who they are, or they will be treated as strangers and ushered out.

Photography

Photography in class may be permitted only if requested in advance and if all parents in attendance are happy about it.

Under NO circumstances are photos or videos to be published (including social media) without the express permission of the parent/legal guardian of any child who appears in the picture/video (foreground OR background).

Making the Most of Kindermusik Classes

  • Plan to arrive about 5 - 10 minutes early for class. Arriving a little before class provides time for your child to settle in to the musical environment as they prepare to enjoy exploring instruments, reading books, or listening to music.
  • We do request that toys, drinks and dummies be kept out of sight, and that snacks be finished prior to class. Be mindful that some children have serious allergies, and that often, seeing someone else eating can be a huge distraction for young children.
  • Be sure to dress comfortably and remove shoes before sitting down to join the class.
  • During the class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active and patient role model. It is not uncommon for a child to attend several classes before feeling comfortable in class. Don't be discouraged - what a child is absorbing in class is often evidenced in the home environment rather than by a certain level of participation in class. The understanding and consistency of the parent or care-giver in class and at home are key to facilitating musical learning and growth.
  • You and your child will benefit enormously from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make active use of your 'Kindermusik@Home' music and activities. Frequent reinforcement at home through the week makes all the difference to a child's comfort and participation in the classroom.

Looking forward to seeing you for lots of fun & learning through music!
