About 'Mister Geoff' & Tritones

Tritones music classes is a family business devoted to running quality developmental music classes, especially Kindermusik®, as our main developmental thrust.

'Mister Geoff' runs most of the classes, with additional classes now run by 'Mrs Shannon'. Geoff's wife Kristen is also involved, attending to enquiries and numerous other support functions.

A big part of what we do comes from understanding the six learning domains, keys to brain development, musical experience and really caring about each and every child and family in our classes.

Tritones is delighted to now have 'Mrs Shannon' (Ready) on board as an educator. Shannon is an exceptional communicator and teacher, brilliant harpist, pianist and singer, and we are very privileged to have her teaching our Blackwood classes.

About 'Mr Geoff' (Driver):
"I have loved music and making music for as long as I can remember", he says.

"My grandparents were award-winning professional South Australian musicians, playing in bands & theatres, so I was given every encouragement as a child to develop musically; singing, harmonising and playing piano; even forming a singing group whilst still at High School."

Geoff had parts in several stage musicals, later moving to live band work with Adelaide-based 'Crystal Image', for a number of years and recording some albums along the way. Experience in the recording studio (including session singing) led to Geoff's appointment as a record producer.

Conducting, arranging, playing & singing, Geoff continues to enjoy the diversity of his music.

With a real desire to help children develop, both musically and in every other way, Geoff is now teaching early childhood music classes.

"I didn't think I'd ever get into this area", Geoff says, "but I discovered what the research was saying about early musical experience and it's impact on development and learning capacity, so I took up Kindermusik® teaching."

"When our own son was born, we wanted to give him the best start we could, so we chose Kindermusik®, and are absolutely thrilled with what it has fostered and continues to bring out in him."

"This is what I want to give to families through my teaching."

Trained, licensed and experienced in teaching Kindermusik®, 2/4 Music & MusikMakers® programmes, Geoff brings a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm and energy to each class. Parents continually delight at how much they and their children have learned and enjoy the benefits of these classes.

"A good start in music is a good start in life. It's not only musical development; I'm talking about the development of the whole child and improving learning capacity.
The research shows that it really works."

"Please talk to me if you're interested in your child's development through music - and how I might help" he says.

About 'Mrs Shannon' (Ready):
Shannon has long had a passion for music and for teaching young children.

She grew up surrounded by music and some of her earliest memories were singing with her family. She learned piano from the age of 7, then began harp when she was 12, achieving her Associate Diploma in Pedal Harp in 1998.

She graduated from the Elder Conservatorium in Adelaide in 1997, during which time she completed her Kodaly Certificates (in Primary Music Education). Whilst studying music, she also tutored Junior Music School classes with the Australian Girls' Choir, taught piano and ran her own business playing harp at weddings.

After discovering a passion for early childhood education, she went on to complete a Bachelor of Education at Tabor, and graduated "dux" of the College in 1999. She worked for six years at Sunrise Christian School as a Junior Primary Teacher, Music Teacher and Choir Director, before becoming the mother of two beautiful girls - Kaitlin (2) and Mianna (9 months).

Shannon is a warm, gentle and enthusiastic teacher who loves to watch each child experience the joy and wonder of music, as they lay the foundations for learning in all areas of development. Parents have often commented on her caring manner and sense of fun that instantly captivates the children and adults in her classes.

"The look of wonder on my daughter's faces as they experience the magic of music is the best gift I could ever give them. I want others to have the same opportunity."
